Our class were partnered with the second year of conservatory theatre of Caen, we created and produce their set for their show at the end of the year.
May-June 2023
After contacting us to create their set for Stefano Massini play “The Lehman Trilogy”, we went to meet them to see where they were in their learning of the play, and how they were using space and props. We discovered that there was no wings in the theatre, and that they were using only cardboard. This material had at the same time advantages and disadvantages for us. We had to create the set without paying anything which led us to do a lot of recycling, but also to modify everything to be fireproof. Step by step, we created a set which evolved at the same time as the play, making us travelled in the United State of the 19th to the 21st century. With one of my classmates, I also lived another experience: during the final performance, we were hiding behind the sets to modify them at the right time.
